WizTech 2100 IR

The days are gone when large digital satellite receivers were found in every nook and corner of the word. They are now replaced by small stylish receivers, which may be kept easily in a living room. One of such receiver is on my desk for testing and that is Wiz tech 2100 IR. Let's play with it.

First as soon as you will open the packet, the Wiz Tech 2100 IR will definitely leave a positive impression on the first look. The window display has covered the most part of the front panel. There are total seven buttons on the front panel for access to various functions of the box, incase the remote control is missing.

The rear panel is equipped with a TV scart connector, serial interface RS-232 for uploading new receiver software, programmable 12 volt output, Three RCA Jacks, IF output and antenna input. The infrared remote control supplied with the box leaves nothing to say behind.

As soon as you will start the receiver for the first time, the main menu will greet you. Then select the language for communication. Wiz Tech comes with English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Hungary, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, Denmark and Greece languages. Every user will find an easy language for communication in this list. Wiz Tech 2100 IR supports DiSEqC 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and the most widely USALS protocol. One may use easily this receiver with each and every kind of antenna system. All the local oscillator frequencies for C and Ku-band are preprogrammed.

Wiz Tech 2100 IR has the capacity to store 4000 TV and Radio channels. It comes preprogrammed with updated satellites from worldwide. One may add more satellites manually. The TV scart connector delivers the TV signals in CVBS format. Wiz Tech does not ask for a password for every menu. All the menus are designed attractively.

After selecting all parameters and language setting, the user enters in the Installation menu. Here you will first select your desired satellite. There will be a complete list of satellites on your screen. There is also a multisatellite search option in this box, where you can scan more than one satellite without any hurdle.

After four minutes and 30 seconds, 898 TV and 422 Radio channels were searched. It was one of the fastest search as expected. One should decide if one satellite, one transponder, network and FTA or All channels should be searched for. Quite surprising is its ability to handle SCPC and MCPC signals. For more experienced users, there is also a manual PID entry. In nearly every menu, the video of the current channel is displayed in a window. The scanned channels can be delete, rename, sort and moved to one of the favourite list.

Wiz Tech 2100 IR supports multi video display function. The receiver splits the channels in 4,9,10,13 and 16 pictures. When it becomes complete, the first channel goes on start. It is also important here to mention the Zoom function of the receiver. It will enable you to view closer the on screen picture. EPG information is accessible with the push of a button. The receiver has fast channel switching. Each time when you will change from one channel to another, the programme information will appear for a moment on your screen. From its design and functions, the Wiz Tech 2100 IR is a very successful receiver. The software design is best then other receivers. Kids may be keep away from adult channels through parental control function.
