Tiger T8

It is a tradition at Dish Channels to high light those products which are newly introduced and available in the market. We check regularly different C and Ku-band receivers at our technical centre. From the last few months, Tiger receivers made by Korea had known the way to our technical centre. Customers are satisfied from Tiger receivers and have highly praised it. The latest Tiger T8 Receiver is at our technical centre, going to be checked. Let's see it and operate it, how much different features it have from other receivers.

The front panel of T8 Receiver deserves full marks. It is the combination of white and black colours. The upper panel is black and the lower panel is designed in white colour. Seven buttons are located on the front panel for complete operation of the box. The on-screen channel number is shown by a four digit display. When you will turn on the rear panel, you will found two scart connectors, programmable 12 volt output, Serial Interface RS-232 for uploading a new receiver software, RCA jacks and a main power button. One may control the whole functions of the box with the remote control supplied with the box. The buttons of the remote control are clearly labeled.

Tiger T8 Receiver supports DiSEqC 1.0, 1.2 and 1.3 (USALS) protocol. This box can be used with multiple antennas. This Tiger receiver has the capacity to store 4000 TV and Radio channels. 100 updated C and Ku-band satellites are present. You may add additional satellites manually. English, Italian, French, Spanish, Germany, Turkish, Arabic, Russian and Persian languages are available for communication. Various local oscillator frequencies for C and Ku-bands are also present. Manual PID entry is also possible.

After connecting the Tiger T8 Receiver to external connections, turn on the receiver, it will be main menu at the first startup. Press the Menu button on the remote control to activate main menu. Main menu consists of Installation, Channel Manager, System Setting and games. The next important step here is the Installation. Press the OK button to enter antenna setting, here the user can make satellite search, multi satellites search, satellite edit, TP search, TP edit and other functions. This window also shows the pre-stored satellite list, you can select satellite by up and down keys. Press the OK button to mark the satellite.

After selecting your favourite satellite for scanning, it is time to wait and see the channel search. The blue button is used for channel search. Radio and TV channels will automatically searched in two different boxes. We were surprised to see the fastest search by Tiger T8 Receiver. 1309 TV and 733 Radio channels were found in 9 minutes. The most watched channels may be moved to one the eight favourite lists.

Pressing the Channel Manager in the main menu will bring the Channel Manager menu on your screen. Here you can edit TV and Radio channels. Kids may be keep away from adult channels through parental control function. The receiver switches automatically between PAL and NTSC signals.

Even Timer is one of the important feature of Tiger T8 Receiver. Here you can set your favourite channel to begin broadcasting at future time you set, including both TV and Radio, you can add, edit and delete the event you set. You can add 8 groups event timer.

You can also activate the Sleep Timer to automatically switch off the receiver. Pressing the EPG button on the remote control will get complete information about the on-screen channel and seven days advance, if available.

In viewing mode, press the F3 you will get the multi picture selection, select one and press OK button, multi picture will be displayed. Press F3 again to get that selected channel pop out and it is living, press OK to display it in full screen or exit to select other channel. The receiver also shows the teletext content if teletext is transmitted. By pressing the Zoom button on the remote control, the on-screen picture will come closer. Pressing the info button will bring the complete information about the on-screen channel for some moment on screen. Various video games are present to make pleasant the boring moments during long commercial breaks.
