S3000 CI Satellite Receiver

homecast, founded in April 2000 has been focusing on positioning as a new leader of the digital set-top-boxes through the concentration on R&D and the proven quality in market. The homecast S3000 CI is such a box, which will perfectly fulfill your dreams.

The homecast S3000 CI is small in size. It has an elegant design. The simply designed front panel of the S3000 CI comes with a display in the middle of the box. The current channel number is shown here. It has 4000 channels for Radio and TV programmes. The S3000 CI is designed not only with free-to-air (FTA) reception in mind, but also for pay TV use. Underneath are three buttons for switching between channels. On the real panel the IF is not looped through preventing the connection of as second analog receiver. The two scart connectors link the receiver with a TV and a VCR. Video and analog stereo audio outputs are also provided on a set of three RCA JACKS. New receiver software can be uploaded through RS 232 from PC to receiver and OTA (over the air). There are also buttons for the alphabetical sorting of channels.

The installation process is very simple. The S3000 CI can communicate with the user in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Turkish, Russian, Swedish, Dutch, Slovakian, Romanian, Hungarian, Polish, Czech and Bulgarian. LNB set up is simple.

Even those unusual values (S-band) are no problem for this receiver. Once all the channels have been found, eight favourite lists serve to handle the most popular ones. One may list the channels by favourite grouping and satellite. The S3000 CI comes with an integrated tele text decoder supported by OSD and VBI. All the menus are simple and user friendly.

An Electronic programme guide (EPG) provides detailed information on up coming programmes assuming of course that the provider makes this information available. Any programme that is listed can be easily marked for recording on the hard drive by pushing the recording button with the help of parental lock function, kids may be keep away from adult channels and programme by age limitation. Digital audio (S/PDIF) is also available. Some Dolby digital systems only work with an optical S/PDIF input the necessary converters are also available with the DISEQ CI.0 and 1.2, the S3000 CI is better suited for use on a multified antenna or with a motorized antenna, when a proper motor is installed.

The homecast S3000 CI is up-date with satellite. The S3000 CI has support timer setting function for automatic Turn-on and off. Of course, you will have to select in advance whether to search for all channels or just FTA Channels. Individual transponders can also be manually scaned. It has also the multi-satellite autoscan function.

The homecast S3000 CI looks quite simple when looking at it from the outside but there is a lot more to it on the inside. DISEQC 1.0, 1.2 and USALS makes this receiver useable with almost any antenna configuration. Its quick channel switching and scanning also deserve to be mentioned. The user is guided very confidently through the installation menus.
