Test Report for Star Track ST 3300 Super

Star Track ST 3300 Super

Receivers have a number of other features as well. They pick up a programming schedule signal from the provider and present this information in an onscreen programming guide. Many receivers have parental lock-out options, and some have built-in digital video recorders (DVRs), which let you pause live television or record it on a hard drive.

Star Track latest receiver ST 3300 Super receiver has outstanding features. The front panel of the receiver is equipped with seven buttons. The front panel window display shows the current channel number and time in a standby mode. The remote control has an easy access to all the functions. The manual supplied with the box leaves nothing to say behind and you will find answers of your all questions.

The rear panel of ST 3300 Super receiver is equipped with a TV scart connector, RS-232 for uploading new receiver software, RCA jacks and IF out put and a power button for turning on and off the receiver completely.

As soon as you will turn on the receiver for the first time, it will ask you to select the language you are using. The user can communicate with the receiver in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Polish, Russian, Danish, Greek, Hungarian, Arabic, Farsi and Dutch. You can define menu language, alternative audio language and subtitle language. You can also change the language on main menu later on.

All of the current settings for the selected satellite are shown in a window on the right side. Here you cannot only select the local oscillator frequency (LOF), the DiSEqC settings or activate a Network scan, but you can also view the signal strength and quality in a spectrum analyzer display for every transponder from the selected satellite. The receiver supports DiSEqC 1.2 protocol, so owners of motorized antennas will be quite happy with this box.

After six minutes, the automatic channel scan of 783 TV and 392 Radio channels was processed. It was quite fast. One should decide if one satellite, one transponder, network and FTA or All channels should be searched for. Quite surprising is its ability to handle SCPC/MCPC signals. The tuner is very sensitive, that's why the receiver can handle extremely low symbol rates. It clearly worked here. For more experienced users, there is also a manual PID entry. In nearly every menu, the video of the current channel is displayed in a window.

The searched channels can be delete, rename, sort and moved to one of the eight favourite list for easier recall later time. The receiver splits the channels in 4,9,10,13 and 16 pictures. When it becomes complete, the first channel goes on start. It is also important here to mention the Zoom function of the receiver. It will enable you to view closer the on screen picture.

In playing mode, press Pause button, the picture will be paused, but the sound of the channel will still continue.

EPG information is accessible with the push of a button. The built in Teletext decoder helps display this service on monitors or older TV sets. The receiver has fast channel switching. Each time when you will change from one channel to another, the programme information will appear for a moment on your screen. From its design and functions, the ST 3300 Super is a very successful receiver. The software design is best then other receivers but it is not easy to use for the beginners.

Unlimited channels, easy installation and fast search, quick channel find and SCPC and MCPC compatibility from C and Ku-band will surely compel to make ST 3300 Super your companion for satellite channels.
