Technosat T-888 Silver

This silver colour satellite receiver with the name T-888 Silver is very attractive and compact in size. As soon as you will open the box, the receiver will attract your attention on first.

Five buttons on the front panel are located for various functions of the box. The four digit display is situated in the middle of the box. As this is a free to air receiver, there is no CI slot on the front panel. Turn the receiver and you will find an interesting rear panel, comprised of TV scart connector, programmable 12 volt output, Serial Interface RS-232 for uploading a new receiver software, RCA jacks and a main power switch. The remote control takes a bit to get used to, as it is surprisingly big. However, one you get to used, you would not want to do any thing more. The manual supplied with the receiver is written briefly in English.

Technosat T-888 Silver has enough capacity to store 6100 TV and Radio channels. 100 satellites are preprogrammed from worldwide. This box supports DiSEqc 1.0, 1.2 and the most user friendly 1.3 protocol. All the local oscillator frequencies for C and Ku band are preprogrammed.

The receiver presents clear and stable picture even with extremely weak signals. After turning on this box for the first time, the Technosat asks the user what OSD language should be used. Every user should be able to find a language they can use. The next step takes you directly into the installation. Here first select the desired satellite in the installation menu. Pressing the OK button displays the satellite list, which is listed in alphabetical order. Select one of the preprogrammed satellite that corresponds to the direction of the antenna. If a desired satellite is not included in the list, then select another. You can add new satellites manually easily.

Manually PID entry is also possible. The automatic channel scan gives you the ability to scan more than one satellite, which is a very outstanding feature of the Technosat T-888 Silver. This characteristics will allow you to scan a maximum satellites in minimum time. You can also select whether FTA or CAS channels should be scanned first. The scan of 1317 TV and 740 Radio channels were found in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. It was one of the fastest scan. After the complete scanning, the receiver saves the all channels. These channels can be rename, delete, sort and moved to one of the available eight favourite group lists.

Pushing the OK button will display the channel list, while at the same time the current channel remains visible in a small window on the right side of the screen.

The video output standard of the receiver may be switched between PAL and NTSC and the automatic switching occurs between these two color norms easily. The T-888 Silver receives both SCPS and MCPC with out any delay. The Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) display channel numbers and information's, which is available by the manufacturer. The Multipicture display is an extra ordinary character of the T-888 Silver Receiver. Every time you change channels, you will receive programme information for a few seconds. If you want to see the picture closer, just press the Zoom button to see the picture in detail.

The receiver has elegant graphic 256-color user interface and standard high quality audio and video. Symbol rates starting at the rate of 2.45ms/sec were found easily during the tests. Kids may be keeping away from protected channels via parental control function. The menus are easy to use. The manual is clear and concise.
