ASTROVOX micro-X MDR-6000 IR Digital Satellite Receiver CAS Embedded

The world of digital is very different from the good old analog world. It is a whole new world. Infact, life must be in a way monotonous in the digital world with no variety at all. But then there is more to digital technology, which has been termed by many as almost a second industrial revolution. The Astrovox new MDR-6000 IR Digital Satellite Receiver with all its characteristic is now here.

The MDR-6000 IR comes in a small and well design shape. It will take eleven inch place of your TV table. It is really amazing and fantastic. There are total seven buttons on the front panel for receiver complete functions like power button, volume controlling buttons, Exit button, channel button and menu selection button. Incase, the remote control is missing, you will feel no problem operating your receiver through these buttons. The current channel number is shown by the front panel display. In addition, there is also CI slot for conditional access system to watch various pay TV channels.

The rear panel will not disappoint you. It is equipped with TV scart connector, RS-232 RCA Jacks, loop out, RF modulator and power card. The black colour remote control have all the necessary buttons for easy access to various functions of the receiver by your finger click. It sits nicely in hands. The overall appearance and workmanship of MDR-6000 IR will really get a favour from your side.

Using the receiver for the first time needs setting parameters for system configuration. To be able to communicate with MDR-6000 IR, you must first select the correct menu language. You have your choice of English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Dutch and Polish. It is also available for the audio career. The picture format is available in size of 4:3 and 16:9. Finding the up to date satellite data is not a problem for this receiver. It comes preprogrammed with 64 satellites. It has the capacity for 4900 channels. It support DiSEqC 1.0 and 1.2 protocol. This makes a sense for this receiver to be able to control a motorized antenna. The most critical local oscillator frequencies (LoF) for the C-band and Ku-band are selectable. The automatic scan can be set to search for all channels, free-to-air only (FTA) channels. We scanned the Hotbird first and found 517 channels of TV and 320 radio channels in 6 minutes.

Since MDR-6000 IR is SCPC and MCPC compatible and comes with a fairly sensitive tuner, signal starting at 2.45 Ms/sec can be received without any problems. Switching between channels is fast. The edit menu provide the necessary organization. Unwanted channels can be deleted, others can be moved, renamed or transferred into one of the favourite list for easier recall at later time. Detailed information on current and future programming is provide by the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG). The MDR-6000 IR is fitted with on integrated teletext supported through VBI and OSD. A push of the info button displays information on the provider, satellite, frequency, polarization, symbolrate, FEC, PID and signal strength. The receiver also comes with a picture pause capacity.

If you press OK in manual scan of installation menu, the scanning will go on start. Here the different buttons on the lower edge of your screen will guide you. Press the green button to search the channels. For editing TP value, press the yellow button. The receiver receives QPSK satellite broadcasting RF signal and decodes the digitally encoded signal. There are three operational modes for digital TV, Digital radio and favourite. The timer service will never miss your favourite programming time. Just you can make this state of enabled to use the timer function. You can select upto 8 timers.

The receiver distributes video signals in CVBS formate. The graphical display is very interesting. At normal mode, various menus are displayed on the screen with remote control action. You can change the current status and mode with various buttons. TV/Radio and favourite list is classified into the simple mode and the edit mode. If there is nothing to watch, then you could always fall back on the built-in video games. Excellent menu structure, 4900 channels, fast channel scanning, NTSC / PAL compatibility with last channel memory is just at your door step. Have a fun with it.
